I worked as a birth doula and perinatal chiropractor for 5 years before having my own child. In this episode I’m sharing what pregnancy and birth was like for me, and the steps I took to utilize the knowledge and expertise I’ve gained over the years to have the beautiful experience I dreamt of.

In the episode I promised a few planning tools for those of you expecting or planning to get pregnant:

Journal/Reflection Questions:

  • What areas of pregnancy and birth are a mystery to you?

  • What fears do you have surrounding pregnancy and birth? How will you work through those prior to pregnancy/giving birth?

  • Who do you envision being part of your perfect birth team?

  • What negative societal or generational narratives are in your mind that need shifting or erasing?

  • Write out your ideal pregnancy and birth experience. Describe the support you’ll have, your activities, how you’d feel.

  • If you have already given birth, what was the most surprising part of the experience for you? What would you do differently for future (even if hypothetical) pregnancies if anything?
